Website Launch

-

26 / 8 / 2026

the moment has finally come for me to launch the overhaul of my personal portfolio website, ataraxi.

whilst i have had this website live for almost 3 years now, i felt that an overhaul was due. i have been working on this as a side project alongside my full time international architectural designer job, uk architecture university studies, travelling and social life, meaning this has progressed slower than i may have liked. despite that, it has been a joy for me to have going on in the background, chipping away at when i find a free evening to myself in a beautiful cafe (see the pic for my current writing location in singapore next to oasia hotel).

some big changes come with this overhaul.

the first big change is the website domain. what used to simply be 'ataraxi.uk' has now become 'ataraxi.life' as i feel that my vision and projects long extend beyond the shores of the uk. the domain change also encapsulates what i am trying to build: a calm that applies to life as a whole - my own, and my clients' through my projects.

the second change is in the website design and functionality. i touched upon this briefly in the old website design archive blog, but will delve deeper here on the new direction. whilst ataraxi is a collection of my works, it can be so much more than that. i want it to be my voice, my online presence, my alias. the most obvious reflection of that is this blog section, which is entirely new for the site.

the ataraxi blogs are my voice. i will not use any ai in this section of the site. these are my words, not the generations of some llm. ai certainly has its use cases, but not here in my genuine and personal space of the internet.

but... why?

i have become so disenchanted with many sides of the modern internet, particularly social media, now plagued with linkedin self worship, flaunting, false stories, rage bait and ai slop. i have fully stepped away on many fronts. i deleted all social media a couple years back after being caught in the shackles of short-form content and realised i was wasting hours of my day on terrible media with nothing actually social remaining.

so instead of inserting myself into people's feeds and spaces on instagram, linkedin, whatever, i will just add my personal updates to this blog. i want them to be intentional and worthwhile to read. they only exist here for myself and people who care to read them... and that is exactly the way i like it. this is my part of the internet for the documentation of my passion, for my travels and for creating meaningful architecture that improves the lives of those around me.

so what can you expect for the blogs? i imagine not so frequent posts, as i tackle many big commitments in my life right now, but i would love to start with documenting my travels from 2026 so far. i would also like to discuss wellness-centred topics that intrigue me and speak to my desired career direction.

the blog post writings will be imperfect, but real, something i feel has been lost in many spaces online.
